Juliana & The Frog

We have a frog living in our front yard and Juliana got to meet him. She tried picking him up but he jumped away so Jonathan picked him up for her to check out... she's not afraid of anything and curious about everything!

Juliana's First Baseball Game

We took Juliana to her first baseball game a few nights ago. There is a minor league team here in Fayetteville called the Swampdogs. We had a blast and will be going much more often...even though everyone knows I am the strict mom when it comes to bedtime!

Happy Father's Day Misters

Thank you Misters for being such a wonderful daddy to your little girl. Everyone knows how much she adores you :) I might hate that she says daddy all day long instead of mommy but that just shows how awesome you are :) Happy Father's Day Misters!

Feeding MYSELF!

Juliana is doing an INCREDIBLE job at feeding herself. She has great hand eye coordination and although she still make quite a mess with yogurt she definitely has the hang of it! Man she is growing up fast :) ... too fast :(

Where we stayed at Myrtle Beach...

Some of you have been asking where we stayed at Myrtle Beach so I thought I would put it out there for whomever is thinking about a vacation. My parent's have a 2 bedroom, 2 bath condo with a full kitchen, dining and living room. The building is right on the beach and the deck over looks the pool and the ocean beyond. No hassels with parking at public lots because the building has it's own parking lot which makes it nice to come and go as much as you need from the beach, especially with kids! Juliana would get so hot so we would head back inside for a while and it was nice not to have to load everything up, drag back to the car and drive to wherever we were staying. The condo is at NORTH Myrtle Beach which I like better, SOUTH Myrtle Beach is more touristy I think then North. SMB has all the clubs and bigger restaurants but we only head that way when we want to shop at Tanger Outlet Mall. NMB still has lots of great shopping and restaurants and with the full kitchen, we usually buy groceries so we don't have to eat out all the time, get's very expensive! We usually run inside for sandwiches then head back to the beach. This is the only picture I've got of the building. It's nice because it isn't a high rise so not as much noise and traffic. If anyone wants a brochure let me know!

Jonathan Home/Weekend at Beach

Jonathan came home May 1st and I already had the car packed for a quick getaway at the beach. GG and Papa John are at Myrtle beach for several weeks so we took the quick drive down there and had a nice weekend before Jonathan had to jump full swing into language school. Juliana didn't like the water at first, she just wanted to walk all over the beach but then found out it feels funny to have the water run under your feet and liked standing in it with her daddy. Jonathan and I enjoyed some massages, both much needed! Poor Juliana burns like her daddy so we had to lather her up with 70+ sunscreen, a special uv bathing suit and sunhat... poor kid!

More Texas Photos

What's a Texas trip without visiting Canton. Erin and her kiddos live out near Canton so we took a day trip to spend time with them. Nana, Erin, Will, Drew, Macy, GG, Mom and Juliana... the whole gang!

Trip To Texas

Juliana and I went to Texas for a week while Jonathan was gone. It was too short to visit everyone but we did get to see all the family. We snapped these shots in what bluebonnets were left. Unfortunately Grandpa Murphy and Papa John weren't with us but we did get to see them!

Easter Weekend

Juliana and I enjoyed our three full days with Jonathan before he had to go back to training, this time SERE school. One night Jonathan and I got to have an adult dinner, with no kids, with some friends he had made during training. It was odd at first because I am so used to only talking about kids now but it was much needed :) Hope all is well!

My First Easter Egg Hunt

Today some neighbors threw an Easter egg hunt in their backyard, before they mowed :) Daddy was in town for the weekend and we were so excited he would be able to do this with us. As soon as daddy gave me the basket I knew what to do! Daddy helped me walk but I found the eggs, picked them up and put them in the basket all by myself! Unfortunately, most of the eggs I found were the little marshmallow peeps which neither mom or dad like and of course I don't get to have, but it was still a blast to have my first Easter egg hunt with both mommy and daddy and also my new friends. Ever since daddy has been home I have been a different girl, totally a daddy's girl. I am so glad he is home. When mommy and I went to pick him up there were so many other people dressed liked him that I couldn't find him but now I won't let him go! He can't even go shower without me breaking in to tears so mommy takes me in the bathroom so I can still talk to daddy. We are sad to say goodbye to daddy tomorrow afternoon but are grateful he will only be gone 2 weeks this time, that'll be a breeze! Enjoy the pictures ... look how big I am getting :)

Spring Has Sprung

This is AWESOME! Lately, we have had some gorgeous days and it looks like it's here to stay! Yeah we may have a chilly day here and there but this whole next week and a half is supposed to remain the the 60s and 70s. How freakin' AWESOME is that? Juliana and I have been enjoying the weather by taking walks everyday and playing with our friends outside as much as possible!!

Puppies and Babies...Not so different!

Soooooo..... no one told me much of the gross side of being pregnant and being a mom. I am the friend that will tell you :) I have told friends all about things preggo books don't warn you about and today I am hear to warn you about something people don't tell you about motherhood. You know when your puppy (or grown dog!) poops on your carpet? You know how gross it is, and how stinky it is, and how demoralizing it is to clean it up??!!! Do you?! Well today I was changing Juliana. She was a little red so I was going to let her "air out" while I picked out her outfit...USUALLY NOT A PROBLEM, we do this often! Well today I turn around to see a nice, SOFT, pile of dung under my child's behind as she is standing against the wall reaching for her hairbows, totally oblivious to what she standing in!!! At first I am totally confused.... where did this come from? Harley wasn't in here. Then I see her little booty and I instantly figured it out and starting yelling "ewww", "oh my gosh", "groooooosss", and so one. She of course gets a little fussy due to my tone of voice. I then realize she has stepped in it... oh yes it gets worse. She has also left a trail of pee from where I sat her down, all the way across the room, to the wall where she left me such a nice present. Now, many of you remember the "diaper blowouts" of your kids as infants but THIS?!? SERIOUSLY!?!? So I pick her up, clean her off and put her in her crib, where she seems to enjoy watching me be totally grossed out while spraying and scrubbing the carpet for 10 minutes. So friends...family... be warned! This is part of motherhood they don't tell you about!! (I was actually thinking exactly those words I was cleaning up after my little dookie monster!)

First Steps!!!

She did it! She finally did it! Juliana was watching me do laundry, holding on to the dryer door. I went to close it and she stood there all by herself for what seemed like forever then she took one step toward me. I started praising her enthusiastically... after all I have been waiting for this day to come for forever! Later that afternoon....

Soooo my child!

So today Juliana and I were headed to ... you guessed it, Walmart ... again! I brought some cheerios for me as a snack in the car and some for her in the store to keep her happy. She saw mine and obviously wanted hers sooner rather than later so I kept reaching back and handing her a few. I look in the mirror at her and what do I see? At almost the exact same time we are both shoving the whole handful of cheerios in our mouths! Why eat them one at a time? Is this my child or what?!!

Who Knew?

So major thanks to my friend Cori who was talking to me while I was at Lowe's which forced me to peruse around a little bit before checking out. I found these awesome curtains that make a world of difference in my living room and in pulling everything together! The other curtains were so heavy that the room was always dark, now I can save on electricity since these make the room bright all day long! And they are totally me :)

Papa Comes to Visit

Grandpa Poole came to visit us for the day and Juliana was soooo excited!

We had a blast with Papa for the day. I loved the break and being able to take a nice, long shower! Juliana loved seeing someone else besides me :) She just wanted to love on her papa the whole time!
